Aptos Just Released Its Biggest Report Yet and the Numbers Are Wild

The Aptos blockchain just published its annual report covering April 2025 through May 2026, and the headline number is 2.95 billion transactions processed in twelve months. That is a 532% increase year over year.

For anyone following Layer-1 blockchains, that kind of growth does not happen quietly. It happens because of a combination of infrastructure upgrades, institutional money moving in, and ordinary users getting access through apps they already use.

The stablecoin story on Aptos is equally striking. The network's stablecoin market cap hit an all-time high of $1.95 billion during the period. Monthly stablecoin volume peaked at $68.13 billion in July 2025 alone. Real-world assets on the network, including products from BlackRock and Franklin Templeton, climbed to nearly $870 million in value.

Three major governance proposals passed during the year. They introduced a permanent 2.1 billion APT supply cap, cut staking rewards from 5.19% to 2.6%, and set all gas fees to burn permanently. The Aptos Foundation is locking 210 million APT, about 18% of circulating supply, permanently out of circulation.

On the technical side, block times dropped below 25ms. An upcoming upgrade called Archon aims to cut that to 10ms, which would bring Aptos latency near centralized exchange speeds.

What most reports missed is where the user growth actually came from. Yellow Card, the Africa-focused payment platform, connected users directly to Aptos. Coins.ph brought Southeast Asia. Bitso served Latin America. These are not niche products. They are platforms with millions of users who needed fast, cheap, stablecoin-capable infrastructure and found it on Aptos.

Aptos Foundation and Aptos Labs committed over $50 million to fund this expansion into trading infrastructure and AI-native applications.

The full breakdown of the annual report, including governance details, RWA growth, and the regional access story, is covered at CryptoNewsLive.org.
